AWAKE YOUTH & MISSION CONFERENCE 2016

8 DAYS MISSION TRIP TO THE TRIBAL LAND

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.” Isaiah 60: 1 A two day event for young & children aged group of 14 to 35. It is to encourage them that they are not alone and they are here for a purpose.

The mission trip to Jagdalpur was initially planned for the one-day event, but it was God’s plan to be organized for three days. Two days youth conference and three days Gospel Outreach meeting in the evening. A team of six people went to Jagdalpur from Sharon Church, Hyderabad. Pastor Premasis Satman with his wife Deepakshi and their two years baby Arlene. Elizabeth Clayton – keyboardist and vocalist, Praveen the drum player and Esther & Karuna – choir and choreography.

Location: Philadelphia Church, Jagdalpur. A town in the land of tribes where 70% of the total population of Baster comprises tribals, the Gond, Maria, Bhatra, Muriya, Halba, Dhurva and minor tribes. These tribals are hunger for the Gospel. We are glad that God enabled us to reach to this city to build leaders and encourage youth.

The three days were absolutely astounding and we are amazed at the work of God and his goodness! We have felt the movement of Holy Spirit during the youth conference. About one hundred young people participated in the event. Pastor Premasis focused on two topics, the first day “You are God’s masterpiece” and on the second day “Discover your talents for the Kingdom of God”. I encouraged the youth with my life transformation testimony. They were very excited to listen the word of God and about thirty five youth rededicated their life for the Kingdom. The youth were divided into several groups according to the similar talents and then each group had given time to represent on the topic. We were able to watch Christian song composed in tribal language and they danced in the tribal tune and music. We worshiped, danced and praised Jesus and met his goodness.

Deepakshi shared about the salvation wristband, explaining the meaning of colorful beads on it. It was an effective tool to share good news to friends. They were very excited about it and the idea was new for them.
